Summer in Cyprus stretches from May to October with high temperatures, cloudless skies and cooling sea breezes. The Troodos Mountains are an ideal place for those who enjoy hiking or relaxing in the cool. The days of September and October are still warm and sunny and basically it is still summer. The first ten days of September see the annual Limassol wine festival, a period of buoyant festivity.

Autumn, towards the end of October sees the evenings becoming cooler, the leaves start to change colour and the vineyards take on a gold and crimson hue against a backdrop of clear crystal sunlight. This is the time to enjoy inland excursions to the villages and vineyards to enjoy the local fare and wine.

The Winter season in Cyprus is normally in December and January, bringing the possibility of rain, but still with an average of six hours bright sunshine a day. Cyprus has many important heritage sites and museums, all at their least crowded during this period.

Spring in Cyprus is an expanse of colour giving many of the ancient ruins a wonderful backdrop. This is the lead up to the summertime with temperatures steadily increasing from 19 degrees Celsius during the day and 9c at night to the highs of the summer. This is an ideal time for nature hikers and off road adventure. Spring is the time to savour the natural beauty of the island in bloom.
